I know I’ve said it before, but this time I’m officially going to get into the swing of things. It is part of my life makeover.

As my first official post in what will hopefully stay a consistent stream of posts, I would like to once again popularize my friend Ana’s blog, which if you haven’t looked at yet, you are seriously lagging behind the rest of the cool kids. Check her blog out here. Then vote for her here. Just click the heart next to Ana (the very beautiful lady in the grey scale photograph). You have to then log into facebook, it is really not complicated so just do it.

Hello world, I’m back. We’ll have to see how long I last this time around, but if my life homework goes well, you will be seeing some cool new stuff. Be on the lookout for me to drop a big new website/collaboration coming soon.

I have never been a good blogger, but I’m going to try now. I’m reading The Elements of Style and it is really inspiring. Because my career isn’t fulfilling at this point in time, I am going to pursue other outlets. One of those is this blog. Hopefully it will go well.

Since about 6th grade I have always kept a pair of Vans red and white classic slip-ons in my shoe arsenal. I also have a few pairs of classic lace-ups and occasionally pine for a pair their flats, but I haven’t indulged in the shoes of my youth for many years now. That all may change…I found these beauties, called the Sophie, on Need Supply Co. and I’m as obsessed as my thirteen year-old self was with the slip-ons. They’re quite pretty and made by Vans…my vintage shoe-wearing feet can only dream about that type of comfort in a flat. I also have a thing for saddle shoes, they’re just so charming.

Perhaps one day I’ll get married.

If I do, I will make it so beautiful that Once Wed will want to post pictures of it…one can dream. Here’s a small sampling of some of their recent posts. Their whole website is filled with beautiful things.

Once Wed has taught me that a great photographer and polaroids makes all the difference in the world.

I think a wedding bbq/potluck/casual party sounds nice.

One of my most favorite people in the whole world, Miss Emma, used to also be my roommate. We had wondrous times filled with homemade soup, wine and late night runs to the food bazaar. Miss Emma has since moved to Austin, TX and I have moved from a hovel on the border of Williamsburg/Bushwick/Bed-Sty to Greenpoint, but scattered around my apartment are some mementos from our old place-one of which are the infamous onion goggles. Miss Emma’s mother sent her ‘homemade soup in a box.’ Basically recipes, a giant soup pot and ladle, and of course, the onion goggles. Emma wore them a few times, but I took quite a shine to them. I just have really sensitive eyes. I can’t make it through a Disney movie without crying and a fresh onion will have me going for at least 20 minutes. To me these goggles are priceless, without them I’d be in the kitchen wearing swim goggles and we all know the kind of rubber suction marks those leave.
